This unit can be used to demonstrate two Vernier scales. The lower one is a simple Vernier giving a ten-fold division of the smallest scale division, while the upper one simulates a spectrometer scale divided to 0.5 degrees with a Vernier giving a fifty-fold 'magnification'.
