The 6146A transmitting valve was a modification of the 6146. The 6146 was more compact than, and replaced, the revered 807 valve, having greater sensitivity, and capable of operating efficiently on the 2 meter (up to 175MHz) band. The valve was also used as an output valve in Public Address (PA) amplifiers.
