The extractor is a machined steel rod. Its final shape is two cones one on top of the other. The hollow base contains a rubber cylinder. There is a spring loaded pin on top attached to an internal plastic cup.
The extractor is lowered over the valve to its base. The rubber grips the valve and the exractor is lifted to remove the valve from its socket. The pin is depressed to expel the valve from the extractor.
