The D61 is a 10 MHz bandwidth all solid state dual trace oscilloscope. The vertical amplifier has a dual trace facility: it displays either channel separately, or alternates or chops back and forth rapidly between channels.

Channel 2 can be switched to become the horizontal amplifier to provide an X-Y display. The printed circuit board based design uses a mixture of bipolar and field effect transistors. It was purchased for the First Year Laboratory in 1974 for $340.

It was later modified for Lecture Demonstration use by fitting a transparent cover.
