This projector lamp has a Tungsten filament in a Xenon atmosphere. This reduces filament losses due to convection. There is also less loss of Tungsten due to evaporation. However the filament will still tend to crystallise and develop slip planes as the filament is turned on and off, so eventually reducing filament life.
