This tour celebrates the work of three men who made possible the first research published from Physics at UQ.

Thomas Parnell was the first lecturer in Physics at UQ from 1912. He used an instrument invented by Dr Sumpner and constructed by Robert W. Paul to demonstrate an improved method for the measurement of the inductance of coils used in power circuits.

The work was published in 1916 while Parnell was fighting in France.
