Tuned Radio Frequency (TRF) radio receiver from the 1920s, using thermionic valves. The wooden box with hinged lid has led to it being referred to as a coffin radio. The circuit comprises 4 stages; one RF amplifier, one (Grid-leak) Detector Amplifier, and two audio amplifiers which are coupled together with interstage audio transformers. The radio drives a horn speaker, which is the anode load for the final audio stage.
